My name is Aimee Sproul and I am running for Encinitas Union School Board Trustee.

I am a current district parent and have a deep understanding of the inner workings of our schools. I have held several positions on the school PTA Board. As Secretary to the Treasurer, I learned about the financial challenges faced by schools and the district. I also serve on the School Site Council, am the ELAC Liaison to the PTA Board, and volunteer at Ocean Knoll to teach Spanish culture and language lessons.

I am unwavering in my commitment to student achievement. I support a strong curriculum in a dynamic learning environment. As the daughter of an immigrant from Latin America, I saw first-hand how a rigorous, public-school education paved the way for my father to achieve his childhood dream of becoming a physician. We need to prepare all students to thrive, compete, and contribute to our community.

 

I come from a family of public-school educators and value our dedicated teachers. As a parent, I recognize that family involvement is paramount to a child’s success and development at school.
